![]() ![]() ![]() "The Killers" (19, Criterion, unrated, $40 DVD) - Here's a killer collection featuring both versions of Ernest Hemingway's short story about a murdered ex-boxer and the subsequent investigation. The DVD is packed with special features, including commentary by film historian Enno Patalas, a 43-minute documentary and a featurette on the film's restoration. It lost me after about 10 minutes, but never mind: This dazzler features visuals that have to be seen to be believed. "Metropolis" (1926, Kino, unrated, $30 DVD) - Don't try to follow the plot of Fritz Lang's silent classic about life in a futuristic city where the poor slave away underground and the rich enjoy all the perks of a mechanized society.
